TABLES and chairs are being offered a new home – thanks to St Luke’s.
The Winsford-based hospice has teamed up with a number of mid Cheshire furniture companies to track down unwanted, high quality furniture to sell in its dedicated home furnishings store.
The Interiors store, on Delamere Street, Winsford, has been such a hit with customers it is now looking to replenish its stock and has recruited furniture firms to help collect and deliver donated furniture.
Corporate fundraiser Karen Burns said: “We are always on the lookout for quality items to sell at Interiors and are now being supported by furniture companies, who are distributing leaflets when delivering new furniture orders giving customers the option to donate their unwanted items.
“It is often time-consuming for people to dispose of old furniture and this gives them the option to donate it to our store – via their furniture supplier – when receiving their new purchases.
“It’s a solution for all and we are grateful to our partner companies for making this possible.”
The Interiors store specialises in quality, used furniture and Karen said customers are often surprised to learn how far their donations go.
She added: “A three-piece suite could provide a bed for an in-care patient while a chest of drawers could provide two bereavement counselling sessions.
“Unwanted or disused lamps, pictures and other smaller household items will all help us raise funds to directly benefit the hospice and continue to grow the range of services we offer.”
