DON’T give dad another pair of socks this Christmas.
That’s the message from the team at St Luke’s Hospice as it urges festive shoppers to indulge the ones they love this year by offering them the chance to win big while supporting a good cause.
The St Luke’s Hospice lottery costs £1 a week to play, with 83 pence going directly to the hospice, and lottery manager Alan Barker believes membership to the lottery would be a welcome gift at this festive time of year.
He said: “It’s often hard to come up with a thoughtful gift to give at Christmas time, especially to friends and family who seem to have everything.
“Personally, I have more cufflinks, socks and novelty slippers than I could ever have use for and I’m not unique in this.
“Membership of our lottery can be given as a gift and this gives recipients the chance to win a share of £2,500 cash - including a top prize of £1,500 - which is awarded every week.”
Membership packages can be bought for 13, 26 or 52 weeks and can be paid for by cheque, standing order or credit or debit card and a personalised Christmas card will be sent to recipients to announce their gift.
A one-off bumper Christmas draw will also be held on December 11, to celebrate the lottery turning 15 this year.
Alan added: “In our festive birthday draw, we are increasing the top prize from £1,500 to £2,500 as well as giving away £1,000 as a second prize, £500 as third, £100 for fourth, £50 as fifth prize and 145 prizes of £5.
“It could be a very merry Christmas for St Luke’s Hospice supporters.”
