A REUNION is being held to mark 50 years since Rudheath Youth Club first met.
The group started life in the ‘Pensioners Hut’ off Middlewich Road, and over the years that followed, members worked tirelessly to build a larger, more suitable building which became the new home for the youth club for 10 years.
When the lease on the land expired, the club closed, and the remaining funds were kept to one side until the new youth centre was opened in Gadbrook Road.
Founder member Eric Pimlett said: “We’ve had quite a few reunions over the years but the 50 year milestone has just passed and is definitely worthy of a special celebration.”
The reunion will take place at Rudheath Social Club, on Saturday, February 6. Live music from The Everly Experience, a disco and a buffet will all be on offer for £12.50 per person.
Eric added: “The Everley’s Experience is an authentic tribute duo who’ll help us re-live those great Saturday night dances in the youth club. The Everly Brothers were just starting their career about that time.”
