CHESHIRE Police has welcomed a report about its commitment to ensuring the force is delivering the best service to the public.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary reviewed how police forces across the country are ensuring they meet the standards set in the ‘policing pledge’.
Of the 43 police forces inspected, Cheshire was among the 33 given the overall grade of ‘fair’.
They were rated as ‘good’ in the key areas of treatment of the public, contact information, answering emergency and non-emergency calls and monthly progress updates.
Margaret Ollerenshaw, chairman of Cheshire Police Authority, said: “We will continue to scrutinise the work being done by the constabulary to ensure that officers and staff deliver a service that is right for the people of Cheshire.”
