BOSSES at Crewe's Leighton Hospital are joining forces with Cheshire Police to keep people informed about their services.

The two organisations are working together to talk to local people in towns across the area.

They are holding a number of consultation events to gather views about service priorities, and to hear what people think about local services.

In this new initiative, both authorities are going out to find out what matters to the public.

Tracy Bullock, chief operating officer and director of nursing at the NHS Trust, said: “We are working hard to ensure the quality of care we deliver to patients and carers is of the highest standards.

“We have developed a set of Quality Accounts, which report on focus the safety, experiences and outcomes of the care we deliver.

"We are also asking the local population for feedback on 10 key priorities for the next 12 months - areas of care which we believe should be the focus for our hospitals and staff.

“Cheshire Police has invited us to join them on their roadshows, which gives us an opportunity to talk to people about the ten quality areas for hospital services.

“We want to ensure our local population agrees with our priorities, give them an opportunity to provide their feedback on our suggestions and to find out more becoming a member of their local Trust”.

Margaret Ollerenshaw, Chairman of the Police Authority said, “Each year, the authority asks the public about policing services to help it set the Chief Constable’s objectives and the policy budget.

"This year, we have decided to go out and to all the main towns as it is important that we understand what matters to local people when it comes to policing.”
