LOSTOCK Gralam crashed to a humbling defeat, only their second of the season, at home to Denton Town.

The Grey Lambs twice went close in the opening exchanges, Kyle Wilding dragging his shot wide after racing clear while Mike Butters was denied by the goalkeeper, before the visitors took control.

They went ahead when Andy Wales slotted home, then he doubled their lead from a rebound after an initial shot had come back off the post.

Lostock improved in the second half, but were struck down by a sucker blow when Denton got a third goal on the counter attack.

Neil Bithell’s men responded, James Horne scoring from the spot after Butters was felled, although the contest was over soon afterwards when the visitors added a fourth from a corner.
