WE are still appealing for pie lovers to send us their ideas for the next best-selling pie filling at a Northwich butchers.
The Guardian has teamed up with Witton Street butcher, Birtwisle’s in the search for the Top of the Pies.
Birtwisle’s, which is celebrating 75 years in business this year, already stocks meat and potato, minced steak and kidney, chunky steak and ale, cheese and onion, chilli beef, minty lamb, chicken and mushroom, pork, mince and onion and apple, strawberry and blackcurrant pies.
Butcher Nick Birtwisle hopes Guardian readers will help him find a new and exciting flavour – and the overall winner will take home a 10 per cent share of any profits their pie makes in its first year.
We are looking for your flavour ideas until November 4, then the judges will get together to whittle them down to the top five fab fillings.
Nick will then bake a batch of the top fillings for readers to sample before voting on the winner.
To enter the Top of the Pies competition just fill in the entry form in this week's Guardian and send it to Top of the Pies, Northwich Guardian, 3 Theatre Court, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5HB, or drop it off at Birtwisle’s.
