A MAN accused of helping batter a man to death ‘one bombed’ the victim, a court has heard.
Paul Blower, 20, of Wincham, who is on trial for the murder of 59-year-old James (Jock) Straiton, told his best friend co-defendant Joshua Spruce carried out the move – which means to knock someone to the floor with a single punch – after an argument about noise.
It is alleged Blower and Spruce, 20, of Winnington, kicked and punched Jock in the head with help from Nigel Goolding, 20, also of Winnington, on Friday, July 25 after he asked them to keep the noise down outside his flat in Park Lane, Winnington.
All deny any involvement with the attack, but Blower’s best friend Tom Randals, 18, of Cromwell Ave yesterday gave evidence stating Blower admitted Spruce had administered one blow.
He said: “Paul said that a man came out of the flats and Josh has ‘one-bombed’ him. I asked him if he got up to anything and he said ‘no’.
