Stopper Grand joined Vics on non-contract terms in September, earning a permanent deal the following month.

Before that he had spent the summer without a club upon his release by League Two outfit Morecambe at the end of last term.

Began his career as a trainee at Rochdale, scooping their Young Player of the Year prize in 2002.

Joined Conference National side Carlisle in 2004, helping them to the title the same year during which he became an integral part of their backline.

Played a part too when they earned a second successive promotion, this time to League One, the following year.

Switched to Morecambe after making only seven starts at Grimsby.
