Stamp’s arrival at the Marston’s Arena become the summer’s most protracted transfer negotiated by Dino Maamria.
He finally got his man hours before the season opener against Cambridge.
Stamp had impressed during a brief loan stay last term, scoring three goals in six starts while forming an impressive partnership with Lee Steele.
Before that he had helped Chester City to the Conference title in 2004, netting 20 times, including the winner against former club Scarborough that sealed promotion back to the Football League.
