A WINSFORD school’s popular festive tradition is back.
Teaching assistant Pauline Lee will be dressing up as a different Christmas character every day in December.
Her costumes have become a tradition at Willow Wood Community Primary School, with pupils excited to come in each day to see her latest creation.
This year she will also be selling a calendar to raise funds to purchase a buddy bench for the school playground.
She said: “Well all my costumes are ready to go. I’m so excited for another few weeks of fun, chaos and laughter!
“I am trying to raise money for a buddy bench for our playground.
“I am very passionate about my school and community and most of all, our children.
“The buddy bench will be a special place for children to chill, chat and make new friends.”
Pauline, from Winsford, has three sons Joshua, Daniel, and Cameron, and two grandsons Josh and Riley.
She started dressing up for Christmas in 2005.
What started as some face paint and a bit of tinsel has developed into elaborate costumes.
Over the years she has come in dressed as Scrooge, a snowman, Buddy the Elf, a turkey, Mrs Grinch, and a pantomime dame, among other things.
Helping to design and create the costumes is Hannah Pye, who also does her make up.
Pauline added: “It’s a real team effort,.
“I love coming into school every day and putting a smile on everyone's face.
“The children love it and I keep them guessing as to what I will be dressed as next.”
