A TEENAGER is looking to start his own record label to help support young musical talent.
Elliott Curtis-Lacey, from Hartford, is hoping to raise £20,000 with the aim of launching his own independent electronic dance music (EDM) label, Ace of Raves.
The 17-year-old Sir John Deane’s pupil wants to create a platform to showcase young, up-and-coming artists
He said: “There’s not that many opportunities unless you have the resources to get your music out there and be heard by a lot of people.
“My vision is to establish an independent EDM label that is rooted in creativity, inclusivity, and collaboration.
“This label won’t just be about releasing tracks - it will be a space where artists, especially young and emerging talent, can thrive.
“So many gifted producers never get the chance to shine due to lack of resources or connections.
“My goal is to break down those barriers and help them reach their audience.”
Elliott first got into DJ work through his school, Hartford CE High School, when he was just 12 years old.
Since then, he has spent countless hours honing his craft, creating tracks and organising events at a number of local venues, pubs and clubs.
“Despite my age, I’ve always believed in the power of determination and creativity,” he added.
“I’ve played in front of diverse crowds, seen the energy music can bring to people’s lives, and realised that music isn’t just my passion - it’s my purpose.”
Elliott is hoping to raise £20,000.
This will help to cover legal and licensing fees, purchase professional equipment, book studio time, and marketing and promotional campaigns.
Elliott is also launching a clothing line to go with the label and has been looking at hosting a free concert in one of the empty units at Barons Quay.
He added: “This project is a labour of love, and I can’t do it alone.
“Your contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a label that stands for innovation, unity, and unforgettable beats.
“Together, let’s make EDM history.”
Also, a talented golfer, Elliott is planning to study a music production course at Leeds Beckett University.
