WORKPLACES in Northwich and Winsford are being urged to get into the festive spirit this year to help support a very deserving local cause.
St Luke's Hospice, based in Winsford, has launched an appeal ahead of its Christmas Jumper Day, which this year takes place on Thursday, December 12.
Workplaces and community groups are encouraged to ‘step into Christmas’ by letting their staff wear their favourite seasonal jumpers.
Last year, more than 40 offices, factories, and shops took part in the special day and this year, St Luke’s is hoping to have 50 local businesses on board.
Registration has now opened for people to sign up and raise vital funds for the hospice, which cares for adults living in mid and south Cheshire who are suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
Andy Bailey, St Luke’s corporate partnerships manager, said: “Our annual Christmas Jumper Day is a great way to have a bit of fun with your work mates and raise much-needed funds for your local hospice at the same time.
“It’s completely up to you when you want to do it.
“If Thursday, December 12, doesn’t suit, and we encourage you to be as creative as possible when it comes to your fundraising activities.”
St Luke’s suggest a donation of £2 per person on the day, which will help to continue the vital work of the hospice heading into the New Year and beyond. Sign up your workplace here.
If you’re struggling to find a Christmas Jumper, St Luke’s local charity shops always have a good selection in stock at this time of year.
