A MAN was arrested on suspicion of assault after a group of teenagers suffered injuries at a late-night pub in Northwich.
Cheshire Police confirmed officers arrested a 20-year-old man on Venables Road in the town centre just after 3am on Saturday, November 23.
A witness to the incident, who is also an alleged victim, said the man had already been thrown out of The Quayside pub on Witton Street after two women were attacked inside before another was later assaulted outside.
She claims the young woman, in her late teens, was slammed into a Witton Street shop window so hard it triggered the burglar alarm, suffering severe bruising and an injury to her lip.
The witness added she herself suffered bruising and a sprained wrist after being shoved to the ground.
The man arrested has now been released on bail while police investigate.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 3.10am, Saturday, November 23, police were called to reports that three women had been assaulted on Venables Road, Northwich.
“Officers attended and a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 39 assault.
“The man has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.”
