HEADLINERS have been announced for a gig in Weaverham to celebrate Winsford paddleboarder and personal trainer Simon Daniels' upcoming 30th birthday.
Simon died at Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham in October after entering the water from a paddleboard while visiting the beauty spot on a day out.
Close friends of the 29-year-old are planning a 'Simon-style' celebration, as he would've turned 30, at Oaklands Hotel in Weaverham on Saturday, November 23.
Billed as Simmy’s 30th - A Night to Remember, organisers promise a ‘vibrant night of music, love, and remembrance as we celebrate a true legend on his birthday’.
Several well-known DJs have now been confirmed for the event, including headliners Darius Syrossian, AJ Christou, and Olive F.
These are in addition to an already packed bill which includes Alex Mavrides, Bailey, Brad Bowker, Chris Whittaker, Dale Hart, Dec Duffy, Dove, Drew Southern, Hooley, Jack Davies, Jake Adams, Jake Smith, Masky Provider, Sansome, and Tom Watkins.
Tom, who is helping organise the event and was a close friend of Simon, said: “Three unbelievable headliners join an already stacked lineup to honour our friend’s 30th birthday.
“All the proceeds will be going towards memorials, as well as donations to charities close to the Daniels families' hearts.
“We will also have Sophie Bond doing a special live performance.
“This is a limited capacity event and we have under 100 tickets left, so grab yours for a night to remember.”
Fellow organiser and friend, Drew Southern, said Simon’s death ‘deeply affected’ the communities of Winsford and Northwich, adding Simmy’s 30th will commemorate his life in a way he would have loved.
Drew said: “We’ll be honouring our friend and celebrating his 30th birthday in true Simon style.
“He was such a beloved figure, known for his passion for music and events. He was no stranger to a rave, and no stranger to the people.
“Wear your brightest attire and bring your best energy as we honour a life which touched us all.”
A GoFundMe page set up in Simon’s memory by some of his friends, including Winsford X-Factor contestant, Sophie Bond, has raised more than £21,000.
Tickets for Simmy’s 30th cost £22.25 including book fee on ticket website, Skiddle.
