A GRANDMA was caught using her phone while driving with her grandchild in the passenger seat.
Police in Winsford have issued a 59-year-old woman with a penalty notice for driving while using her mobile phone.
She was seen driving from Dingle Lane to High Street.
When officers stopped her they found her grandchild in the front seat of the vehicle, with the driver admitting she had called her daughter to ask her to mix a bottle for the child in time for their return home.
“That's not a valid reason to use your phone while driving, and could easily have been arranged before she set off on her journey,” said a spokesperson for Winsford Police.
The grandmother was handed a £200 fined and had her licence endorsed with six penalty points.
