SCHOOLCHILDREN and their families took part in a special event to honour the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Over St John's CofE Primary School pupils commemorated Remembrance Day with a 'glow walk', organised by the Winsford school's newly formed PTA.
Families walked the trail, led by Trooper McGarty, on November 7 with handmade poppies and in flow glow, collecting letters to make the word 'heroes'.
The children were later invited to 'plant' their poppies in the grounds of the Delamere Street school and take a moment to remember those lost.
A PTA spokesperson said: "The children certainly lit up the night and showed that lightness can be found in even the darkest of hours.
"Children received completion certificates and trail prizes, and enjoyed remembrance-themed colouring-in, all while warming up with hot chocolates and cookies or danced in the indoor glow light!"
Over St John's PTA started up this year and has lots of ideas to raise funds for the children of Over St John's Primary CofE. The next event is a Christmas Fair on Friday, December 13.
