YOUNGSTERS across Northwich and Winsford have been doing their bit to help support the Royal British Legion.

Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, groups of Beavers and Cubs from 1st Darnhall Scouts manned stalls at locations across Northwich.

On Saturday, November 9, the three locations, including one at Asda Northwich, collectively raised more than £5,000 for the Royal British Legion, which supports armed forces veterans, serving personnel and their families.

A delighted 1st Darnhall Scouts group spokeswoman said: "Asda Northwich kindly let the Royal British Legion (RBL) have a table with all things Poppy.

"The generosity of the public was overwhelmingly amazing. At 1pm, more than £5,000 was raised collectively by this table sale and two more in Northwich.

"If anybody is interested in volunteering for the RBL contact your local RBL, also if anybody wants to become a Beaver, Cub or Scout please contact 1st Darnhall Scouts group.
