SAMURAI swords have been handed over to police.
Northwich Local Policing Unit, town councillors and Weaver Vale Housing Trust held a pop-up police station in Winsford on Tuesday morning (November 12).
It formed part of the force’s Operation Sceptre efforts, a national campaign aimed at tackling knife crime.
During the surgery at Cheviot Square, several samurai swords and knives were handed in.
A police spokesperson said: “Following this morning’s pop-up police surgery held at Cheviot Square, Winsford, several samurai swords and knives were handed in as part of the Op Sceptre initiative campaign, helping to keep Cheshire knife crime free.”
Anyone needing to dispose of knives is asked to contact their local PCSO, details of which can be found at www.cheshire.police.uk/area/your-area/cheshire/northwich.
