Breaking Bad and Monty Python supercars to be sold by Hampson Auctions

A 1980 Aston Martin V8 will be sold by Northwich-based auctioneers, Hampson.

It was once owned by Graham Chapman, perhaps best-known for his leading roles in Monty Python’s Holy Grail and Life of Brian.

When bidding opens at Bolesworth Castle on November 24, it is expected to reach between £200,000 and £240,000.

Registered in September 1980, the 5.3-litre sports car has had just six previous keepers in its 44 years on the road.

It has belonged to its current owner since 1996, during which time it has been heavily tuned and upgraded.

The seller said they were inspired by Aston Martin specialist Andre Bloom and ‘this unique car was his dream machine’.

Specialists Aston Engineering carried out an X-pack conversion to give the car the look of the 1986-89 model.

It has also been converted to high-performance Vantage specification, with uprated steering, suspension and brakes.

Meanwhile the bodywork has been redesigned with Vantage flared wheelarches, front spoiler and rear under-valance.

In the past year alone, it has received a new mohair hood and a near-full respray in unique BMW Glacier Blue.

The Aston Martin isn’t the only car with a famous past going under the hammer at Bolesworth Castle later this month.

A 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, which featured in an episode of Breaking Bad, is expected to sell for £60,000 to £70,000.

It featured in episode 10 of the fourth season of the hit series.

Described as a ‘bona fide 70s supercar’, the Pantera spent much of its life in the United States before being imported to the UK nine years ago.

Its current owner describes it as being in ‘excellent condition’, adding that the Ford V8 ‘sounds amazing’ and that it is surprisingly easy to drive.
