A KIND-HEARTED schoolgirl crocheted 241 poppies to help support the Royal British Legion.
Isabella Patelaros, a year six pupil at Antrobus St Mark's Primary School, taught herself to crochet earlier this by watching YouTube videos.
Then, after an Easter family holiday to Normandy which took in trips to a D-Day landing beach, the Museum of the Battle of Normandy and the British War Memorial, she started making poppies in May.
As well as the traditional red, Isabella created various-sized poppies in purple, as well as blue and yellow ones which were sent to Ukraine.
Isabella sold her poppies at the school, to villagers, at church, in local businesses, at coffee morning groups, at a village friendship group, and at table tennis and golf clubs, raising more than £400 for the Royal British Legion.
Executive head teacher Rhian Perry said: "Isabella is an absolute joy to have at school.
"She is extremely helpful, kind and caring and she has demonstrated these admirable qualities in her recent poppy appeal.
"Isabella is a credit to our school and her parents, and we could not be prouder of her."
