BUDDY the elf is coming to Hartford.
Final preparations are underway as Frodsham-based Zodiac Theatre prepare to stage ‘Elf the Musical’ at The Grange Theatre.
First produced on Broadway in 2010 and based on the award-winning 2003 Will Ferrell film, the feelgood festive show follows Buddy as he leaves the North Pole in search of his real father in New York City.
Upon discovering that his father is on Santa’s naughty list and that he has a half-brother who doesn’t even believe in Saint Nick, Buddy sets out to spread cheer, win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Director Lou Steggals said "We’re delighted to bring this heart-warming and hilarious story to life on stage.
"Elf is more than just a holiday tale—it’s a celebration of family, friendship, and the magic of believing.
"I’m so proud of our incredible cast and crew for bringing the spirit - and comedy - of Christmas so brilliantly to life.
"This show is a real gift for the holiday season, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone!"
Lou is supported by musical director Craig Price and choreographer Jessica Martin.
The production features a catalogue of catchy songs by Matthew Skylar and Chad Begueling performed by a talented cast, supported by a 12-piece live band.
Leading the cast as Buddy the Elf is Tayler Spruce, by day a cabin crew training manager for a leading airline.
He said: “Trading an aircraft cabin for Santa's sleigh has been a welcome change!"
Elf the Musical arrives at The Grange Theatre on Wednesday (November 13) and runs until Saturday (November 16), with shows starting at 7.30pm.
The 2pm matinee performance on Saturday has already sold out, so producers are urging theatre fans to book as soon as possible to avoid dissapointmenets.
Zodiac’s production arrives at an exciting time for the venue, which is gearing up to host its first in-house professional Christmas show, Peter Pan, in December.
