A NEW mural pays respect to fallen soldiers.
Artist Mel Magee has transformed an untidy breeze block wall for Moulton Royal British Legion Social Club.
It is the first mural she has ever done and Mel couldn't be prouder of how it turned out.
She said: “I love seeing murals by other artists, which add so much colour and character to a place.
“Painting a mural for this charity made it even more meaningful as it honours the fallen.”
Mel has always had an interest in art but in 2018 she decided to take it more seriously.
During the pandemic she would draw something every day, developing her skills and personal style.
She studied art at GCSE and A-Level and has now started on a Graphic Design and Illustration course at Liverpool John Moores University.
Mel decided to volunteer her services to complete the mural as a way of getting her work on display whilst on her gap year.
It was the first mural she has created, giving her valuable experience of using spray paints.
She planned out the artwork digitally, before bringing her vision to life on the wall at the rear of the club, on Main Road in Moulton.
Mel said: “It was one of my goals to paint a mural such as the one I have completed for Moulton Royal British Legion Social Club.
“I am proud that I have managed to achieve this and proud of the mural I have produced.
“I look forward to what the future (in art) brings my way.”
