WINSFORD’S Remembrance service has a new location for 2024.
The town council has confirmed plans for Remembrance Sunday.
For the first time, the service will be held at the new location of the town’s war memorials, next to Winsford Library.
It will begin at the usual time of 10.45am on Sunday (November 10).
In addition to the service, there will be a parade from Wyvern House to the memorials, which will congregate from 10.15am onwards.
Members of the public are welcome to join the parade, and it is likely that the parade will leave Wyvern House at 10.25am.
This year, the parade will proceed via The Drumber and Dene Drive to the war memorials.
Wreaths will be laid by the Lord Lieutenant on behalf of His Majesty the King and the Town Mayor, councillor Wayne Fletcher, will lay a wreath on behalf of the town.
The service itself will be conducted by councillor Fletcher and Reverend Allen Moyo of St Andrew’s Church in Winsford.
A further service will take place on Monday (November 11) by the war memorials, starting at 10.50am.
This service will recognise the exact date the armistice was signed in 1918 to end the First World War.
