A FORMER Isle of Man TT racer accused of raping a child in Northwich has had his trial pushed back more than a year after denying all charges.

Conner Behan faces two counts of raping a child under 13 years old, one of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13, and three of sexual assault by touching a child under 13.

The 32-year-old pleaded not guilty to all six charges at a hearing at Chester Crown Court on Friday, November 3, 2023.

He was due to stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court beginning on Monday, November 5, but this has now been pushed back.

He will now appear before a jury at Chester Crown Court on Monday, December 9, for a trial which is estimated to last five days.

The allegations came to light after a report was made to social services by staff at a primary school, who then informed the police.

Behan, of Heath Avenue, Newcastle-under-Lyme, raced motorcycles on roads and racetracks in the UK and Ireland between 2004 and 2015, becoming Irish Road Race Supertwin champion in 2014.
