MADCHESTER legends are coming to Northwich.
Inspiral Carpets will take to the Plaza stage next year.
With 11 top 40 hits to their name, tickets for their gig on May 4 are expected to sell out quick.
A spokesperson for the venue said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce that Inspiral Carpets will play at The Plaza on Sunday, May 4, 2025!
“Perhaps needing no introduction, Inspiral Carpets were a key part of the crucial Madchester scene that changed the musical landscape and inspired generations!
“With 14 top 40 singles and four top 10 albums in almost 40 years, Inspiral Carpets were built to last, and we can’t wait to welcome them to CW9!
“Tickets going on sale on Wednesday are expected to go fast so please don’t sit back – see you down the front!”
Inspiral Carpets formed in Oldham in 1983.
Some of their biggest hits include This Is How It Feels, Saturn 5, and Dragging Me Down.
In October 2022, following a six-year hiatus, the band announced they were reforming.
They have used several different line-ups over the years, but current members Graham Lambert (guitar) and Clint Boon (keyboards and backing vocals) were part of what is considered band’s most successful period, in the early 90s.
The duo will be joined on stage at the Plaza by lead vocalist Stephen Holt, drummer Kev Clark and Clint’s son, Oscar Boon, on the bass.
Warming up the crowd will be DJ Scott Burstow and The Seahorses’ frontman, Chris Helme.
The Seahorses are perhaps best known as the post-Stone Roses project of guitarist John Squire.
They achieved two UK top 10 hits with Blinded By The Sun and Love Is The Law.
Tickets for the gig will be available from Wednesday (December 6) at https://theplazanorthwich.com/book/.
