A DESIGNER outlet has opened for business.
High-end outdoor clothing brand Rab has welcomed the first customers to its new Mountain Outfitters outlet store in Northwich.
Located at Winnington Business Park, the shop sells upcycled products, season samples and end-of-line products at up to 50 per cent off RRP.
It officially opened today (Friday, November 1), alongside a Rab service centre where customers can take their outdoor kit for repairs, reproofing and washing.
Matt Clarke, head of customer experience, said: “We’re really excited about the expansion of our Rab service centre offer into Northwich.
“We chose the town because of how accessible it is, and it being such an up-and-coming area.
“We didn’t want to locate in a retail-specific location, but we do want to attract and support a local customer base, which may not otherwise have heard of the brand."
Rab’s founder, Scottish climber Rab Carrington, made his first sleeping bag in an attic in Sheffield in 1981.
Since then, the brand has cemented itself as one of the most trusted manufacturers of outdoor gear in the world.
The company has a strong focus on combating climate change and reducing waste.
As such, they have recently expanded their network of service centres, with sites in Derbyshire, the Netherlands, Canada and the USA.
In 2023 Rab repaired and washed more than 20,000 items.
Matt added: “Service centres are an integral part of our ambitious sustainability strategy, as it helps to keep gear longer in action and thus reduce waste.
“We are pleased to see the service is now also easily accessible to those further afield from Derbyshire, enabling them to self-serve and look after their kit.”
The new Winnington Business Park service centre and Mountain Outfitters outlet shop opens Tuesday through Saturday.
A selection of Rab clothing and accessories are on sale, as well as Lowe Alpine bags.
All Rab Gore-Tex and insulated jackets are 40 per cent off RRP, with most other items 50 per cent off RRP.
