A TEAM of opticians which has been serving the Winsford community from the day their store opened are celebrating its 20th anniversary.

To mark the milestone, two decades on from the ribbon-cutting in 2004, Specsavers Winsford had cake, goody bags and non-alcoholic fizz available for its customers.

It was an extra special occasion at the Jubilee Way store as five members of staff have worked there since day one.

Jackie Hickson, director at Specsavers Winsford, said: "We’re so pleased to see Specsavers Winsford reach this milestone, which has only been possible through the continued support from our amazing customers.

"I’ve personally been at Winsford since it opened 20 years ago, and I’m so proud to be part of its history in this community."

Also celebrating 20 years at the Winsford store are store director Peter Adshead, assistant manager Fiona Peers, and dispensing consultant, Clare Ball.

Their colleague Heather Kelsall also joined the celebrations at almost 20 years with the store, ahead of her retirement this year.

Heather says: "I’m so pleased to have been at Specsavers Winsford from day one.

"Of course it will be a hard day saying goodbye to the team after such a long time, but knowing the store is looked after by all my amazing colleagues, I know it will go from strength to strength.

"What an amazing 20 years it's been working within the Specsavers family.

"I’m so proud of everything the store has achieved over the years and the milestones we’ve passed together. I know who I’ll be visiting for my own eye tests from now on."
