KENTUCKY Fried Chicken is here to stay.
The Northwich home of the colonel’s secret recipe is set to go under the hammer.
However, despite rumours to the contrary on social media, this will not have any impact on customers, with the fast-food chain confirming it is business as usual.
“Fear not fans of KFC Northwich, the only thing for sale is our finger lickin’ food,” said a spokesperson for the company.
“Unlike the rumours suggest, our Northwich - Chester Way KFC is open as usual, with no plans of closure.
“So, if you’re looking to satisfy your taste buds, head down to our restaurant.”
Last week, a listing for the building leased out to KFC appeared on the website of commercial property auctioneers, Acuitis.
The listing states that the property is to be sold at an auction on November 7, with a guide price of £1.25 million.
It adds that it is currently let to Clokken Limited, trading as KFC, until September 2035.
The fast food restaurant has occupied the site for more than 20 years and pays £85,000 per year, according to the listing.
Rent reviews are scheduled for 2025 and 2030.
“The property comprises a modern purpose built, single storey drive-thru with indoor and outdoor seating areas,” the listing adds.
“The property benefits from a total site area of 0.18 Ha (0.44 Acres) with a drive-thru road for vehicles, 26 customer parking spaces and a low site coverage.”
