AN early-hours smash between a lorry and a car closed three lanes of the M6 overnight.
Fire engines from Middlewich and Lymm responded to a call to the M6 northbound between junctions 18, for Middlewich, and 19, for Northwich and Knutsford, at 3.14am on Friday, October 18.
Three lanes of four were closed as the incident was dealt with.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters made the scene safe following a road traffic collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a car.
“Three lanes of the M6 were closed, leaving the fourth lane open, while the incident was dealt with.”
Cheshire Police have been contacted for an update on the condition of the drivers involved.
National Highways Northwest report traffic conditions have now returned to normal.
