A CHARITY shop in Winsford is appealing for new volunteers to join its friendly team.
The Barnardo's branch in Dingle Walk raises money for the charity which protects and supports children and young people in the UK.
The shop is open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays, but store manager Linda Capper would be delighted with any hours volunteers could give.
She said: "We are looking for new volunteers to join our fun and friendly team for as many hours that suits you
"Our store volunteers help raise vital money for one of the biggest charities in the UK, to support children.
"We are looking for people either to help sort through our vital donations, restock shelves, to till train up."
Anyone from the age of 14 or older is welcome to apply. Tasks include sorting through, tagging, and hanging donations, keeping the shop clean and tidy as well as some till work if wanted.
Training is provided, as are kitchen and toilet facilities, as well as tea and biscuits.
Linda added: "Our volunteers are amazing. We couldn’t survive without them. They’re absolutely amazing and if you could give them all awards, you would do.
"Nothing is too much trouble for the volunteers and they all work great as a team together. We have a mixture of ages, which is nice.
"We do say to our younger volunteers, it looks great on your CV when you leave school that you’ve actually given someone some of your time and you’re willing to try."
Anyone interested in applying is asked to contact Linda on 01606 592442.
Potential volunteers can also call in the store for details or go on Barnardos.org for more information.
The shop is also appealing for donations (toys/gifts/small household items) for its Christmas gifts sale, to help make the festive period more economical for families.
