A COMMERCIAL property developer has secured more than 80 acres of land in Northwich in a move which 'could create hundreds of jobs for the area'.

Stoford has acquired 82 acres of allocated employment land adjacent to Gadbrook, with a development agreement signed for the delivery of units ranging from 100,000sqft to 600,000sqft. 

Following the acquisition, Stoford plans to submit a hybrid planning application early next year.

This will consist of a detailed application and outline proposals for up to 1.1 million square feet of manufacturing, industrial, and logistics accommodation.

"The site has been allocated for some time without being developed and therefore we look forward to being able to bring value to the local area through a high-quality development and job creation.”

The site, located on the A556, and just shy of six miles from junction 19 of the M6, is allocated for employment uses within the Cheshire West Local Plan. 

Andrew Lynn, partner at DTRE which advised Stoford along with Gateley, said: "The site benefits from excellent connectivity to the M6 corridor via junction 19 and the national motorway network.

"This will provide occupiers with quick access to the key strategic ports in the North West including Liverpool Port and Manchester Airport.

"Occupiers will benefit from design and build options specific to their needs.” 

Stoford has delivered more than 2.5 million square feet of industrial/logistics accommodation in the last 12 months.

Its recent schemes include the construction of a 667,000sqft state-of-the-art logistics centre at Hooton Park Airfield, Ellesmere Port, on behalf of Stellantis and 1.1 million square feet for THG at Manchester Airport City South.
