DEAD geese have been dumped on a country lane.
Cheshire Police are investigating after receiving two reports in the past week of fly-tipping in Moston, just south of Middlewich.
In total, around 10 dead Canadian geese have been found in the Green Lane area.
Officers are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you have any information about these incidents or were in the area of Moston and saw something suspicious, please call 101 quoting IML 1939539.”
Since 2019, Canadian geese have been covered under the general licence for controlling birds.
This allows licensed people to kill or take the species, and take, damage or destroy their nests and eggs during the close season ‘in order to preserve public health and safety’.
