Children in Cheshire are being asked to design a poster to encourage people to recycle.
This is part of Aldi's initiative to mark Recycle Week which runs until Sunday.
The supermarket, which is the fourth-largest in the UK, has invited children to submit their creative designs for a chance to win a £250 Aldi voucher for their family.
The entries will be judged by a panel of Aldi's sustainability experts.
The three winning designs will be displayed at Aldi's UK headquarters to encourage employees to recycle.
This competition is part of the supermarket's ongoing plan to support sustainable shopping behaviours.
This includes reducing the amount of single-use plastic and increasing recycled content in its packaging.
The competition is also a part of the Get Set to Eat Fresh programme by Aldi, Team GB, and ParalympicsGB, which aims to inspire children aged 5–14 to develop their interest in healthy, sustainable food.
Luke Emery, Aldi's national sustainability director, said: "At Aldi, we are constantly reviewing ways to reduce excess plastic and packaging, and this competition aims to educate children on the importance of recycling.
"We hope it inspires the next generation to embrace small changes that can make a big difference to the planet, and we look forward to receiving a diverse range of entries."
To enter the competition, parents and teachers need to submit their children's A4 poster designs via email to aldicompetitions@citypress.co.uk.
Entries open on October 14, 2024, and close on November 8, 2024.
