A GROUP of photographers from across Cheshire is looking forward to showing off its work in a first exhibition since the Covid pandemic.

The Mid Cheshire Camera Club is putting on its 'Our Visions in Prints' exhibit at the VAC Gallery in Barons Quay from October 19.

Running until November 9, the exhibition of artistic photos depictions nature, architecture and more, will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 10.30am until 4.30pm.

A Mid Cheshire Camera Club spokeswoman said: "This is our first post Covid exhibition and everyone has worked hard to put it together, particularly our chairman Rob Bentley and our exhibition secretary Jim Cain.

"Our members will be stewarding the exhibition, so it will be an ideal time for people to drop in and ask any questions about the club, if they are interested in joining."

The club runs from September through to March, with a yearly membership priced at £35, with sessions costing £3.

Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings from 7.45pm at St Andrews Methodist Church in Winsford and are open to photographers of all abilities.

One member, Kathleen Hill, has been involved with the club since 2009 after receiving her first digital camera for her 50th birthday.

The 65-year-old said: "I got the idea to join a camera club when I saw a small display of photographs in my local Post Office window. It got me wondering if I could ever produce such professional looking pictures.

"Anyway, I eventually went along to an evening at the club and I met the person whose images I’d admired in the Post Office window. He made me very welcome and my casual snapping soon turned into a serious hobby that has brought me much pleasure over the years.

I’ve made lots of lovely friends and my photography has got better and better thanks to the effort I’ve put in, which is due to the inspiration I get from being a member of this friendly camera club.

"I’m thrilled that 15 years on I’ve got the chance to show some of my pictures to the wider public.

"I’m keeping my fingers crossed this exhibition will inspire someone else to continue on their photographic journey and maybe even join Mid Cheshire Camera Club."
