POLICE have provided an update after a man was ‘seriously injured’ in a suspected assault.
A 26-year-old woman was arrested in Northwich last week on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Her arrest came after a 30-year-old man had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Cheshire Police have today (October 14) confirmed the alleged victim has now been discharged from hospital.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old woman has since been released on police conditional bail, pending further enquiries.
Emergency services were called to Church Road at around 1.42pm on Wednesday (October 9), following reports of a man with ‘serious injuries’ in the street.
Police and ambulance crews, including an air ambulance, all attended the scene.
“A 30-year-old man has gone to hospital via air ambulance and a 26-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault,” said a Cheshire Police spokesperson.
“The incident appears to be isolated.
“Enquiries into the circumstances, are ongoing.”
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "An ambulance crew, solo responding paramedic and critical care team in an air ambulance all attended."
