A FIRE was started in a park ‘deliberately’.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to reports of a fire in Winsford last night.
One engine, from the Winsford station, arrived at the scene at around 9.19pm on Friday (October 11).
Upon arrival, crews found some wood alight, which they believe was done deliberately.
A CFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to extinguish a fire involving wood on a park.
“The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.”
While CFRS has not confirmed that the fire was at Winsford Town Park, they did state the park was located on High Street, Winsford.
Cheshire Police have been contacted for further information.
