A MIDDLEWICH man caught almost three times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads.

Michael Horsfield, of Queens Drive, was driving along Warmingham Road in Middlewich when he was caught on September 15 last month.

A subsequent breath test revealed the 60-year-old had 100 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Horsfield was charged with drink-driving and pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Monday, October 7.

Taking his admission into account, magistrates disqualified him from driving for 28 months and fined him £200.

The driving ban will be reduced if Horsfield completes a rehabilitation course by May 25, 2026.

The bench also ordered Horsfield to pay a surcharge of £80 and costs of £85.
