PATIENTS have been told not to come to A&E unless absolutely necessary.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has stated that the emergency department at Leighton Hospital is ‘very busy’ today (October 8).
A senior nurse at the hospital, has urged patients to only come if it is an emergency, critical or life-threatening situation.
She said: “Our emergency department is very busy at the moment.
“You can help us by making sure you only come to A&E when you need emergency care.
“If you could be cared for at home or by your local pharmacy, GP or walk-in centre, please help us by choosing the right option for your treatment.
“If you need emergency medical help but you’re not sure where to go, please use NHS 111 to get directed to the right place for you.
“You’ll speak to a trained healthcare professional who will guide you on the best course of action for all non-life-threatening conditions.
“Thank you for your support.”
