YOUTHS have been distressing the elderly and racially abusing people.

Davenham and Moulton Police have set out to tackle anti-social behaviour in the Kingsmead area of Northwich.

This includes multiple reports of youths banging on doors along Kensington Way between October 1 and 3, which police say has ‘caused distress’ to elderly residents.

It is also alleged youngsters have shouted racial abuse at residents on Pulford Close, which officers have said can be classed as a hate crime.

“This behaviour by youths in the area will not be tolerated and is unacceptable,” said a spokesperson for Davenham and Moulton Police.

Police say the two aforementioned issues are being caused by the same group of youths.

The force has now acquired CCTV footage, which is currently being reviewed.

Officers will seek to identify those responsible before conducting home visits to discuss possible action that may be taken.

This comes as Davenham and Moulton Police continue to deal with similar reports of anti-social behaviour in the Clifton Drive area of Leftwich.

Police say youths have been playing loud music, swearing and being aggressive towards residents, climbing drain pipes, and intimidating members of the public.

There have also been reports of youngsters kicking and damaging windows, bus shelters and shutters.
