A SUSPECT is set to make his first crown court appearance after being charged with the murder of a Northwich man.
Matthew Higgins is expected to be produced at Chester Crown Court this morning, Wednesday, in relation to the death of David Eaton in Rudheath.
Emergency services were dispatched to an address in Brook Lane at around 3.35pm on Saturday, September 28, following reports of a disturbance.
Mr Eaton, aged 37, was found at the scene with stab wounds before he was pronounced dead.
Thirty-five-year-old Higgins was arrested at the scene, along with a 41-year-old woman, on suspicion of murder.
He was later charged with the offence and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court yesterday, Tuesday, before the hearing was adjourned.
The woman was released on conditional bail.
Magistrates in Chester heard Mr Eaton had suffered stab wounds to the chest and was heard saying he had been 'stabbed’.
A knife was recovered at the scene and ‘significant’ statements from neighbours were taken. The initial opinion from pathologists is that Mr Eaton died from the stab wounds.
