THE man who died after a disturbance in Northwich was found with multiple stab wounds, a court heard.
David Eaton was found with serious injuries as emergency services arrived in Brook Lane, Rudheath, at around 3.35pm on Saturday, September 28.
Despite the best efforts of attending paramedics, including a team from the North West Air Ambulance, the 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Matthew Higgins, of Brook Lane, and a 41-year-old woman were arrested at the property on suspicion of murder.
The 35-year-old was later charged with the offence, as well as assaulting an emergency worker, and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court this morning, Tuesday.
The woman was released on conditional bail.
Higgins appeared in the dock in a grey jumper and grey joggers and mouthed to his family, who were present in court, that he loved them.
Prosecuting, Tara Thomas told the court Mr Eaton had suffered stab wounds to the chest and was heard saying he had been 'stabbed’.
A knife was recovered at the scene and ‘significant’ statements from neighbours were taken. The initial opinion from pathologists is that Mr Eaton died from the stab wounds.
The case has now been adjourned to Chester Crown Court, where Higgins will appear tomorrow morning, Wednesday.
