POLICE have charged a suspect with murder following the death of a man in Northwich.
Emergency services were dispatched to Brook Lane, Rudheath, at around 3.35pm on Saturday, September 28, following reports of a disturbance.
On arrival at the scene, a man, in his late 30s, was found with serious injuries.
Despite efforts from attending paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation was launched into the incident with two people, a 41-year-old woman and a man aged 35, arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.
Detectives investigating the death have confirmed this evening, Monday, that they have charged a man with murder.
Matthew Higgins, aged 35 and of Brook Lane, was arrested on Saturday.
He has since been charged with murder and assaulting an emergency worker.
Higgins has been remanded in custody to appear before Chester Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1.
Cheshire Police has also confirmed the identity of the deceased as David Eaton, aged 37 and from Northwich.
A 41-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on conditional bail.
In a statement issued on Saturday, DI Eleanor Atkinson, said: “I understand the concern this incident is likely to cause.
“I want to reassure residents this is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no risk to the wider community.
“Patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance.”
