THE M6 in Cheshire is closed in both directions due to fallen power cables.
The closure is in place between junction 17 for Sandbach and junction 18 for Middlewich.
Delays of around 60 minutes are reported with six miles of congestion.
The motorway will remain closed until the problem is resolved.
A power cable has fallen beside the M6.
The road closure has been put into place so it can be repaired safely due to the risk it may fall onto the carriageway.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
Diversions are signposted.
