WORKERS at Home Bargains will be getting two extra days off this festive and New Year period.
The discount retailer has four stores in Mid Cheshire – one on Witton Street in Northwich, the Middlewich branch off Wheelock Street and two in Winsford, one in the Cross and another at Wharton Retail Park.
The business has announced, following its annual conference, that all its stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
This is to enable all its workers to enjoy the festivities with loved ones, Home Bargains said.
The company has also confirmed that all Home Bargains stores will close at the earlier time of 5pm on Christmas Eve, again to enable staff to spend time with their friends and families.
A spokesman for the retailer said: “We know how hard all our colleagues have worked throughout the year.
“Being a family-run business, we recognise the importance of spending quality time with our loved ones.
“Therefore, we feel it is only right to support our valued store teams by giving them extended time off around Christmas and New Year.”
Liverpool-headquartered TJ Morris Ltd, trading as Home Bargains, has more than 600 stores across the country, employing in excess of 28,000 staff.
