A POLICE raid has resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs following a warrant in Winsford.

On Tuesday (September 10), officers from the Winsford Beat executed a warrant at an address in Weaver Street, having received intelligence relating to drugs offences.

Officers seized a quantity of a class B drugs, namely cannabis, during the raid along with other drug dealing paraphernalia.

Inspector David Levins said: “This warrant forms part of our ongoing efforts to tackle illegal drugs offences in Winsford and we hope this will provide reassurance to residents in the area that we are committed to dealing with this problem head-on.

“Drugs are a huge drain on our communities, so cracking down on those responsible is always one of our priorities.

“But we cannot solve this problem alone.

The suspect has since been released under investigation.
