HIGH school students keen on careers in the music industry are being invited to learn more about the possibilities available to them.

The largest music careers expo in Cheshire is coming to Winsford for one day only this weekend.

Aimed at secondary school pupils, aged 11 to 16, 'Inspire Cheshire - Not Your Average Music Careers Event' takes place at the Winsford Academy from 10am until 5pm on Saturday, September 14.

Music experts, including producers who have worked with stars such as Dua Lipa, Bryce Vine and Bring Me The Horizon, will be on hand to share insights into the industry.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet band members from The 1975 and Larkins, as well as Winsford's own The Luka State, who recently opened the Main Stage at the Reading Festival.

A spokesman for organisers Edsential Musical Routes said: "We’ve been working tirelessly to bring together a one-of-a-kind experience for young people in Cheshire.

"Our goal is to help students think bigger, work smarter, and get inspired for a future in music."

In addition to meeting music industry professionals, students will participate in interactive sessions, Q&A panels, and hands-on experiences in the Roland live room.

Topics covered will range from careers in music, from teaching music, starting your own business, to becoming a successful artist.

The event, funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is designed to inspire and prepare the next generation of musicians and music professionals.

Free tickets are available for students, with more than 300 tickets secured so far.
