THE bungalow which housed a cannabis farm and was destroyed in a fire has gone up for sale.

A property in Tarvin once used to grow the class B drug has hit the market.

On sale for offers in excess of £300,000, the site suffered ‘significant damage' during a fire in May 2022.

Robert Reed of Gascoigne Halman, the firm marketing the property, said: “This is a one-off listing with both a bittersweet backstory and a hugely exciting future.

“This detached property has been in the same family ownership for many years but has sadly suffered significant fire damage in recent times.

“As a result, it now needs rebuilding or replacing entirely with the eventual purchaser encouraged to seek relevant consents from the local planning authority."

Emergency services were called to Cross Lanes in Tarvin shortly before 4am on May 5, 2022.

Police and fire attended the scene, discovering a fire in a detached bungalow, which was later confirmed to be unoccupied.

It was reported at the time that the property was being used as a cannabis farm.

Police arrested two men, aged 36 and 33, near Blackpool in connection with the incident.

The pair were released a few days later with no further action taken and the case has since been closed.

Despite the damage caused by the blaze, Gascoigne Halman believe the sale offers ‘hugely exciting and unusual development opportunity’.
