POLICE have made an arrest at an anti-social behaviour hotspot.

Officers in Leftwich have been carrying out high visibility patrols in the Old Hall Road and Kingsley Drive areas.

It comes following multiple reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in and around the disused Leftwich Green Community Support Centre.

Cheshire Police have now been able to identify some of those involved and an arrest has been made.

“Officers are currently working with the local council to create a more permanent solution,” said a spokesperson for the force.

Leftwich Green Community Support Centre, a 30-bed facility that supported people who required assisted living, was shut down by Cheshire West and Chester Council in 2018.

Since then, it has become a target of vandals as it waits for new owners to take over.

There were several break-ins in 2023, prompting police to add the building to their patrol plan.

Meanwhile, council staff boarded up all entry points and ensured fencing at the rear of the property was more secure.

This stopped the break-ins and eventually the former care home was taken off the police force’s patrol plan.

However, over the summer, reports of anti-social behaviour have once again started to rise.

Speaking in July, PCSO Lee Robertson said: “This building is a health hazard and this is the main reason for these patrols.

“The building inside is not safe, with live wires coming from the ceiling, glass and other items that could cause injury.

“We do ask if anyone knows of anyone who is entering this building, we do advise that they must not due to mainly their safety.

“If there is any suspicious activity around the building then please call it into 101.”
