A Cheshire motor racing driver is in the hunt to claim a prestigious title this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.
While the likes of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton will be looking to notch another Formula One race win at the historic Monza circuit, 22-year-old Kingsley racer Luke Browning is one of the contenders aiming to clinch glory in the FIA Formula Three Championship.
The support race category is seen as a stepping stone for stars of the future on the way to premier-class motorsport, with young drivers battling it out over 10 venues.
This weekend sees the final two races of the season being battled out over the super-fast Monza track.
In a tightly contested championship, Browning sits just six points off leader, Italian Leonardo Fornaroli, whose consistent points-scoring has meant he heads the title chase on 129 points despite not yet winning a race.
Second place is fellow Italian Gabriele Mini on 128 points, with Browning on 123 points and two feature race wins to his name in Bahrain and Austria.
With a maximum of 39 points available in the finale, it's all to play for as Hitech Pulse-Eight racer Browning – who won last year's prestigious Macau Grand Prix and is a Williams Driver Academy racer.
The Formula Three sprint race, where 10 points go to the winner, is on Saturday, while the feature race, where the winner gets 25 points, is on Sunday morning. Bonus points are earned for setting pole position and setting the fastest race lap.
